5 actions the Carolina Panthers must do immediately this offseason
Carolina Panthers must re-sign Haason Reddick
Haason Reddick has had a tremendous impact on the field in his first season with the Carolina Panthers. In a short time, the outside linebacker has become a fan favorite and a supremely impactful player on the field for good measure.
The former Temple star was named as a first alternate for the Pro Bowl and is only just entering the prime of his career at 27 years old. Reddick has stated he enjoys being part of the Panthers organization and can see himself here long-term.
General manager Scott Fitterer needs to make that a reality by signing him to a four or five-year contract at market value. It won’t be cheap, but pass-rushers with the consistency Reddick’s displays over the last two campaigns are hard to find.
Keeping another defender who can attack the quarterback will benefit both Reddick and Brian Burns, who reached his first-ever Pro Bowl this season despite not quite reaching lofty expectations before competitive action began.
This duo could be the face of the front-seven for the next five years if given the opportunity. And there is little doubt Reddick has earned it following his free-agent move from the Arizona Cardinals.
