Carolina Panthers must create a Fan Advisory Council

Sure, this is the least likely of the five action items to happen. But why can’t we dream?

A competent front office is important. A solid coaching staff is vital. Highly talented and coachable players are a must. But without fans, there is no team.

Without a fan purchasing a ticket and passing through the turnstile on gameday, watching the team on network television, purchasing apparel from the team store, tailgating, writing blogs, or recording podcasts, the team has no one to play for.

The fan should be the most important member of the organization.

With that, the Carolina Panthers should create a fan advisory council consisting of PSL owners and others to give them a voice in the room. No, this group should not have the power to make any business decisions, but to be a voice for the fanbase at large on what the mood is and what they feel should be done.

Have a quarterly meeting with a few department heads to let the council voice concerns and have them be ambassadors. This could be a two-to-three-year timeframe before rolling off to provide fresh perspectives.
