Nick Foles

Nick Foles is a player that NFL pundits will never figure out considering the seasons he has put together. The veteran started out his career as an efficient quarterback who didn’t turn the ball over but his boring and prototypical style eventually ended with him becoming a backup.

Everyone knows what happened next with the Philadelphia Eagles and Foles outgunning Tom Brady to clinch a memorable Super Bowl triumph. He did have a solid team built around him that truly believed, and he played at an outlandish level no one believed the signal-caller was capable of.

The next season Carson Wentz got hurt yet again. Foles entered and gave the Eagles a chance. A dropped pass by Alshon Jeffrey ended his second run and he became a sought-after starter around the league.

Two stops later, the Jacksonville Jaguars and Chicago Bears both deemed Foles as a backup and not a player who is a part of their future. Another free agency awaits this offseason and the Carolina Panthers could be in the mix.

With a great defense similar to what Foles had in Philadelphia, the Panthers should at least look in Foles’ direction if they opt to find an answer in free agency.

Perhaps all of the magic around Foles was used to beat Tom Brady and is forever gone. But with Sam Darnold, P.J. Walker, Teddy Bridgewater, and Cam Newton as their recent answers to the position it is hard to see him being any worse, right?
