5 worst moments of the Carolina Panthers’ 2021 season

Fan disillusion with the Carolina Panthers
One thing that’s been glaring this season is the increasing sense of detachment from the team and its fanbase. The Carolina Panthers have demanded an incredible amount of patience considering they’ve not put together a winning season since David Tepper bought the organization, but what’s transpired during the current campaign has clearly been the tipping point for some.
Opposing fans dominated Bank of America throughout the season. Cam Newton’s bombshell return injected life into the franchise for a brief period, but this evaporated pretty quickly and disintegrated entirely once Sam Darnold was restored as the starter under center.
Now that Rhule has been given a third year to try and turn things around, it’s only distanced fans further from the team. Most have already seen enough regarding the head coach’s methods to determine he’s not the right guy, but the only opinion that matters is Tepper’s when it’s all said and done.
The Panthers cannot afford to make any more mistakes. But until Tepper’s bottom line is impacted, nothing much will change and the billionaire clearly doesn’t want to admit mistakes were made.
Hopefully, things can start trending in the right direction for the fans’ sake. However, there doesn’t appear to be much that inspires confidence regarding the current regime.
