Carolina Panthers end of season awards: 2021 edition

D.J. Moore – Carolina Panthers WR
It’s been another turbulent season at quarterback for the Carolina Panthers. But that hasn’t stopped D.J. Moore from putting together another impressive campaign.
The wide receiver has been the one bright spot in the absence of Christian McCaffrey, with Moore going over 1,000 yards receiving for a third straight year despite the obvious lack of production under center.
This has been a revolving theme since Moore joined the Panthers. Something that makes his production all the more remarkable all things considered.
There’s just no telling how much better Moore could become with a stable presence distributing the football. Getting him out in space to maximize production should be a top priority for the new offensive coordinator, whoever that might be.
The former first-round pick out of Maryland eventually finished the campaign with 1,157 receiving yards and four touchdowns from 93 receptions. Moore was targeted 163 times and it’s hard to envisage just how much Carolina would have struggled without him.
Perhaps there might not be the cap space to extend Moore this offseason. But this is something the front office should do at the earliest possible opportunity regarding our 2021 Offensive Player of the Year.
