Could Carolina Panthers general manager Scott Fitterer go back to his old employers in pursuit of strengthening the team in 2022?

It’s still a little too early to judge Carolina Panthers general manager Scott Fitterer. Especially considering it is head coach Matt Rhule that’s currently getting the final say on all personnel decisions despite the troubled figure hinting to the contrary during recent interviews following a disastrous 2021 season.

Now that Fitterer has one year of experience in the top job, it might see him become more influential. Something Rhule might not like, but a proposition that will undoubtedly be considered by Panthers owner David Tepper after he decided to give his head coach a third season, according to multiple reports.

Fitterer is a sound football mind that really made a name for himself during the draft last year thanks to a frenzied period of trade activity. Although the Panthers have just $24 million in cap space currently, he might look to some familiar faces from the Seattle Seahawks in pursuit of turning the franchise around.

With this in mind, here are five Seahawks players that could potentially reunite with Fitterer during the offseason.

The Carolina Panthers need help on their offensive line in a big way. This unit was mismanaged by the decision-makers last time around and the team paid a heavy price with almost no consistent protection throughout the campaign.

Scott Fitterer has already made it very clear that significant investment is needed in this crucial area of the field. And it just so happens that a potential problem-solver he’s already familiar with might hit the free-agent market.

Ethan Pocic has proven more than capable of being a starting-caliber center in the NFL. The former LSU standout gave up one sack and conceded just two penalties from 600 snaps in 2021 – so he’s a player Fitterer might be pushing for in the coming weeks.
