4 reasons the Carolina Panthers should re-sign Cam Newton in 2022

Cam Newton inspires
Morale within the Carolina Panthers is pretty low right now. Not only with the players, but those fans who are becoming increasingly disillusioned with the way things are being managed from the top down.
The only time the team’s fanbase was galvanized and inspired at any stage of the 2021 season was when Cam Newton returned. A beacon of hope when all else was crumbling around them.
Again, this wasn’t enough to put more than one win on the board. And that’s the excuse Matt Rhule might go with when it comes to letting Newton leave for a second time.
However, his status as head coach will be hanging by a thread if things continue in the same fashion next season. Having Newton as part of the set-up could take some focus away from his own failings if nothing else.
Newton didn’t throw anybody under the bus. Even though he was well within his right to considering how Rhule and Sam Darnold pointed the finger on occasions and in the former Baylor man’s case, made things difficult for the signal-caller to succeed.
Whether there will be another option from elsewhere worth considering is up for debate. But Newton is absolutely adored by the team’s fans and providing he’s used in the right way, should inspire them enough to remain committed to the Panthers in 2022.
