Which Carolina Panthers players failed to reach expectations during what became a poor 2021 season overall for the troubled franchise?

The 2021 season for the Carolina Panthers was a rough one, to say the least. There weren’t Super Bowl expectations entering the year. But many at least thought the team could find its way into playoffs and possibly make some noise.

The quarterback and offensive line positions were a question mark, but there was plenty of talent to work with on the roster. After a 3-0 start, it looked even more possible for the Panthers to have a successful season.

Individually, there were tons of players on the Panthers roster that failed to contribute the way many expected them to, leading to many of their struggles.

There will need to be quite the roster overhaul this offseason, with mainly the focus being the offensive line and quarterback spots. But running back is also a concern with the health of Christian McCaffrey.

We already went over some of the players who earned themselves a new contract but here is a look at five Panthers players who failed to meet expectations this season.
