5 free agents the Carolina Panthers must avoid this offseason
By Nick Halden
Odell Beckham Jr. – WR
- 2021 team – Cleveland Browns/Los Angeles Rams
It appears that Odell Beckham Jr.’s gripes with the Cleveland Browns are all well-founded after his recent success with the Los Angeles Rams. The veteran is such a talented receiver who has shown what he is capable of early in his tenure with the New York Giants and Eli Manning and more recently in the sunshine state.
Much like Von Miller, Beckham is a player who is going to get a lot of attention around the league this offseason. He is a household name who will sell a lot of jerseys and bring a lot of attention wherever he lands.
Having a duo of D.J. Moore and Odell Beckham Jr. would put the Carolina Panthers wide receiver group among the top of the league. However, as great as he is, this is a position that needs to address with a cheap veteran option.
Spending what limited cap space they will have on a receiver or a pass rusher isn’t an option when those are two of your strongest positions. Beckham, much like Miller, is a very talented player who will likely get more money than he’s worthed based on fame alone.
Beckham would be a great addition, but one that Carolina can’t afford considering the number of other areas they must address.
