Another potential team to watch if the Carolina Panthers and Haason Reddick cannot come to an arrangement regarding an extension is the New York Jets. Robert Saleh has a potentially dynamic duo of Carl Lawson and John Franklin-Myers at the defensive end spot, but adding the Temple product to the second level would give their chances of making a bigger splash a significant shot in the arm.

The Jets might not be that far away from real progression if Zach Wilson makes improvements this offseason. They also possess plenty of high-end draft selections this year and with $47.76 million in free funds, they could even become an attractive free-agent destination.

Success has been hard to come by for the Jets in recent years. But one could argue they are in a better position than the Panthers right now and if those in power decide Reddick’s demands are too steep, then the AFC East team seems like a good fit from the outside looking in.

The market for Reddick might be robust considering he’s managed 23.5 sacks over the last two years. This is something the player will no doubt be aware of and Carolina needs to stump up the necessary funds to keep one of their key defensive pieces on the books.

New York is on the up despite another lowly record in 2021. If they can nail this offseason, then expect them to become a force next time around.
