Indianapolis Colts

Missing out on the postseason was a major underachievement when one considers the talent that the Indianapolis Colts have at their disposal. When they needed their quarterback Carson Wentz to come through in a crucial situation, the veteran failed miserably en route to a cataclysmic final day loss at the Jacksonville Jaguars to deny them a wildcard berth.

Whether this leads to another change at the quarterback position is unclear. But the Colts have around $42.9 million available to spend to take this team one step further on a deep playoff run in 2022.

The Colts appear pretty strong across their front seven. But adding someone like Reddick to an already loaded defensive front could propel this defense to incredible heights in 2022.

This won’t be cheap. And the Colts do need to surround Wentz with more prolific pass-catchers if they decide to move forward with the player next season and possibly beyond.

That being said, one only has to look at how the playoffs have unfolded so far to see that defense wins championships despite the ongoing desire to make offense king across the league. Indianapolis managed just 1.9 sacks per game during the campaign, so if the Carolina Panthers let Reddick walk for whatever reason, a discussion needs to be had within the Colts organization.

Carolina needs Reddick and he’s already stated his love for the area. But the NFL is a business at the end of the day so no possibility can be ruled out at this juncture.
