Carolina Panthers will land a stud OL in free agency

The Carolina Panthers have around $24 million in salary-cap space remaining heading into the offseason. Hopefully, the team can make the necessary sacrifices and restructure some existing contracts to get this number up and allow the organization to make the necessary improvements across the board.

As stated previously, the offensive line has to take top priority in the coming weeks. The Panthers cannot continue with underperforming veterans and mid-round draft selections any longer, something that’s been their undoing during numerous key moments over the past two years.

Building through the draft is obviously the cheapest way to do this. But don’t be surprised if the Panthers go after a big fish with proven experience and high-quality production at the next level.

Someone like Terron Armstead from the New Orleans Saints or Brandon Scherff of the Washington Football Team would be tremendous acquisitions to the roster. But convincing any top-dog on the market that Carolina is a viable option appears to be a hard sell right now.

Scott Fitterer stated he would be in on every deal upon his appointment. This has come to fruition more often than not so far and if he could get his hands on an elite offensive lineman in free agency, it would be a substantial boost to the Panthers and whoever is under center.
