3 reasons trading Christian McCaffery makes sense for the Panthers
After another season ravaged by injury, it might be time for the Carolina Panthers to trade running back Christian McCaffrey this offseason.
Christian McCaffrey has been a mainstay for the Carolina Panthers offense since entering the league as a first-round pick back in 2017. He quickly emerged from a rotational piece to the focal point and star of the team, something that saw him emerge as the league’s best dual-threat running back along the way.
McCaffrey grew into a household name and there is no denying his talent. But after appearing just 10 times over the last two seasons due to injury, there are some who are now calling for the All-Pro to be traded this offseason.
The Stanford product has been with the Panthers through two coaching regimes under Ron Rivera and Matt Rhule. However, that could be well coming to an end as multiple reports say that the team is open to hearing-out offers from willing suitors.
Even though McCaffrey has endured some hardship staying healthy of late, there might be a team or two who’d be interested in bringing the player on board. But it’s a big call for Carolina to make when it comes to pulling the trigger.
Many of Carolina’s faithful are against the move, for obvious reasons. There is also the financial aspect to consider before any such move is finalized.
Without further ado, here are three reasons why trading McCaffrey makes sense for the Panthers.
