A breakup can be good for Christian McCaffery and the Carolina Panthers

A lot of times in relationships, separation is what the two sides need after a while. It can start off great and have a good tenure together, but after a while, bringing it to an end is what is called for.

That can be the answer for Christian McCaffery and the Carolina Panthers. A metaphorical “breath of fresh air” for the organization with a new offensive focal point and a new team with perhaps better chances of contending for the running back.

McCaffrey is still one of the best in the business and became an elite back in no time at all. Due to no fault of his own, outside factors led to a downtick in progression.

Injuries have limited his playing time and games over the past couple of seasons. So it might be a good idea for Carolina to get a reset on things by moving him providing the financial situation isn’t too steep and they get suitable compensation in return.

It is no secret that Carolina has not handled McCaffery’s situation well. Whether that being with bringing him back from the medical room in an untimely manner, to the amount of workload they’ve given him.

Being the main focal point for the team puts so much stress on McCaffrey – which was bound to catch up with the player at some stage considering how much responsibility he shouldered with no real consistent presence under center.

A new team with a different – perhaps more competent – coaching staff who will handle him differently can be a rejuvenating force for McCaffrey and his career.
