His future looked precarious at best throughout the season. But Kenny Robinson deserves all the credit in the world for turning his career with the Carolina Panthers around in 2021.

The talented safety came of age as a key member of Carolina’s special teams unit and also made his presence felt with the defensive rotation for good measure. Robinson is clearly growing in confidence and if he can build on this positive momentum during the offseason, then it’s highly likely he’ll be in contention for a starting spot.

This is quite the turnaround for Robinson, who was cut initially before being brought back onto the practice squad. However, this isn’t anything the player hasn’t experienced before after fighting through adversity from West Virginia to the XFL en route to being a fifth-round selection.

Matt Rhule is clearly expecting big things from Robinson judging by his exit presser comments. Although it’s likely Carolina will strengthen the backend in free agency or the draft, the player has given himself half a chance of earning a prominent position on the depth chart.

Keeping the same mindset and working hard will put Robinson in a solid spot. Something that wasn’t guaranteed in the slightest this time last year and could mean nothing but encouragement moving forward.
