Jamaree Salyer – OL (Georgia)

Saying that the Carolina Panthers need help on their offensive line this offseason would be the understatement of the century. This unit was a complete abomination with no consistency, a distinct lack of preparation, and unable to cope with even the simplest assignments that left whoever was under center almost no chance of making a difference.

Thankfully, this is something that general manager Scott Fitterer and head coach Matt Rhule want to put right judging by their exit presser statements. In truth, it’s a position they’ve not prioritized and suspect signings such as Pat Elflein and Cam Erving not working out only increases the sense of urgency.

Fitterer and Dan Morgan were spotted by the offensive line drills at the Senior Bowl and they would have been impressed by the level of performance Jamaree Salyer demonstrated throughout. The former Georgia star was a key cog in their national championship success at left tackle, but there remains some intrigue as to where he’d be best suited at the next level.

Salyer has filled multiple positions in drills and looked the part in every spot. His footwork, technique, and hand placement are exceptional and the player is pushing himself into first-round contention providing this continues.

Carolina would do far worse than look in Salyer’s direction. Especially if they go in a different position at No. 6 overall.
