Which NFL Draft prospects stood out that the Carolina Panthers should take notice of during Day 3 of practice at the 2022 Senior Bowl?

We are now well into what’s been a fascinating 2022 Senior Bowl practice week so far. Conditions have been less than ideal for the most part, but the Carolina Panthers and others across the league already have a much better indication of which college prospects might fit the bill right now than at any stage during their evaluations.

This is a crucial offseason period for the Panthers. Having no Day 2 pick in the draft complicates things, obviously, but there remains hope that general manager Scott Fitterer can make the necessary moves to ensure a solid haul for Carolina this spring.

With the offensive line needing reinforcements and the possibility of a new quarterback, things are hanging in the balance. But make no mistake, the decisions made between now and the regular-season getting underway will have major ramifications for head coach Matt Rhule.

Without further ado, here are five studs from Day 3 of Senior Bowl practice that the Panthers should add to their notebook.

Marquis Hayes – OG (Oklahoma)

One man that’s done his chances the world of good at the 2022 Senior Bowl is Marquis Hayes. The Oklahoma offensive lineman has conquered all-comers throughout practice this week, with his production on Thursday arguably the best of the bunch.

Hayes is a brute on the interior, boasting the size and football IQ that allows him to stay in front of oncoming rushers consistently. The Carolina Panthers need help in this area of the field and providing they can secure some Day 2 draft capital before the time comes, it could be a solid selection.

This looks like a deep draft class where offensive linemen are concerned. Something the Panthers have to take advantage of in no uncertain terms.
