Buffalo Bills
It’s no secret how strong the connection is between the Buffalo Bills and Carolina Panthers. Since Brandon Beane and Sean McDermott took charge of prominent leadership positions within the AFC East set-up, a constant stream of coaches and former players have made the move up north, something that’s come with a tremendous amount of success along the way.
The latest of these was announced this week when Joe Brady became Buffalo’s new quarterbacks’ coach after he was fired as offensive coordinator by Matt Rhule midway through the team’s bye week. This is a fantastic opportunity for the progressive young mind to work with Josh Allen, one of the few elite signal-callers operating in the league right now.
With Mitchell Trubisky out of contract and potentially looking for another starting chance somewhere, the Bills could be after an understudy to Allen and Cam Newton is someone the coaching staff knows extremely well. Considering Buffalo isn’t too far away from reaching a Super Bowl, it would be a shock if this didn’t also interest the Heisman Trophy winner.
Newton would provide Allen with a solid presence to work alongside. Something that would undoubtedly assist his development considering everything the Auburn product has achieved throughout his glittering career.
This would give Brady and Newton the chance of working together for a prolonged period, which was denied to them by Rhule when he sacrificed his play-caller in pursuit of saving his own skin, to a certain extent.
