3 examples that indicate worrying career path for Christian McCaffrey

What does this mean for Christian McCaffrey?
The Carolina Panthers have a decision to make with Christian McCaffrey this offseason. While there is a chance he could have a Dalvin Cook-like comeback, that is very much the outlier according to history.
Running the former All-Pro into the ground as the team has in recent memory is simply something that cannot happen any longer. The team drafted Chuba Hubbard to spell McCaffrey and the second-year back needs to start being used for that purpose.
If the Panthers don’t start nursing these injuries properly and live in the reality that McCaffrey is an injury concern, it could very well end up being another cautionary tale like that of Todd Gurley or Ezekiel Elliott. A potential generational talent squandered by injury.
So what is in store for McCaffrey this season and beyond?
Unfortunately, history shows us that this is the start of a fairly rapid decline for the running back. One that there is little the team can do about.
If we go by what is most likely to happen then McCaffrey will probably be injured once again and miss a minimum of four games while the contests that he does play in aren’t anything to write home about anyway. Running backs have the shortest shelf life of any position in the NFL and once they fall off that shelf it’s a quick drop.
I hate to say this but it’s the truth. We may never see McCaffrey at the peak of his pwers again.
