Carolina Panthers could gamble on Kenny Pickett – QB (Pittsburgh)

Kenny Pickett boomed in his final season at Pittsburgh and his draft stock increased all the way into the top 10.

Many mocked the quarterback as the first player at the position coming off the board before the Reese’s Senior Bowl. He shows a lot of promise as a potential franchise prospect, but the negatives in his play cannot be overlooked.

Pickett was already the talk of the town, but he put his name on the map with his famous fake slide against Wake Forest. He can scramble, but at times he holds onto the ball too long and puts the offense in a bad situation.

There are no real concerns about Pickett’s strength, but the arm talent lacks at times when he needs it the most. He also has something that is out of his control.

Small hands.

Everybody notices that he wears two gloves, and he embraces that. But whether NFL teams like the Carolina Panthers see this as a red flag or not has yet to be determined.

Looking at Pickett’s tape compared to the rest of this quarterback class, he looks the most NFL-ready. He’s not perfect, but with some good coaching, the signal-caller could thrive at the next level.
