Carolina Panthers could target Geoff Swaim – TE
Although Geoff Swaim has never been classed as an elite tight end throughout his career, he made the most out of almost every opportunity that came his way to assist the Tennessee Titans in pursuit of eventually locking up the No. 1 seed in the AFC last season.
The former Texas star has endured some bad fortune regarding injuries during his career. But he does the little things well and also has assured hands to further boost his credentials.
Despite getting just 40 targets last season, Swaim managed to collect an impressive 77.5 percent of his targets and boasts a career average of 78.6% in this regard. So there could be even more to come from the player with additional involvement elsewhere.
Swaim benefitted enormously from Jonnu Smith leaving for the New England Patriots. But opportunities will always be somewhat limited in Tennessee’s run-first scheme led by the phenomenal Derrick Henry at running back.
The Carolina Panthers could be one team where he’d become more influential. There remains some hope that Tommy Tremble can evolve into a complete tight end after flashing as a rookie, but another veteran could be sought with Ian Thomas out of contract and unlikely to come back.
Whether Swaim would be interested in a move to Carolina is undecided. But there are far worse options for the organization to consider that’s for sure.
