Carolina Panthers should have hired Ken Dorsey

Ken Dorsey is now the Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator, but he would have been a great choice for the Carolina Panthers if they offered him the position early enough. One thing to look for when wondering who your play-caller on offense should be is a quarterbacks coach who helped a young prospect transform their game.

There isn’t a coach in football who fits that description better than Dorsey. People forget just how much Josh Allen struggled when he first broke into the league and there were many wondering if the Bills made the wrong selection or would have been better off with Tyrod Taylor.

No one is asking these questions now after Allen has put together two great seasons that saw him elevate the Bills to contenders. Dorsey is in a Buffalo offense that has turned the Wyoming product into one of the better stars in the league and has helped the team find the success they haven’t had in years.

Dorsey would have been a great hire for Matt Rhule and is already familiar with the organization having worked there previously.

He was fired by Carolina after Cam Newton’s struggles in the Super Bowl. Before that, he was a part of his NFL MVP season and helped translate the player’s game to the next level.

A former Panther that helped Carolina to the Super Bowl and followed it up by developing Allen wasn’t the choice. But it perhaps should have been.
