3 bombshell trades for the Carolina Panthers to land Kyler Murray

Carolina Panthers trade offer No. 2
If the Carolina Panthers are in a position where they can make the Arizona Cardinals an offer for Kyler Murray, then it has to include their first-round selections in 2022 and 2023. That might be seen by many as mortgaging their future, but the quarterback has proven production and the gravitas to make this team a viable destination for high-quality free agents despite the ongoing uncertainty surrounding Matt Rhule’s future.
Losing Murray is something the Cardinals shouldn’t entertain, in all honesty. If they did, it would leave them with a gaping hole at the most important position on the field.
Perhaps the No. 6 overall selection could enable Arizona to pick their quarterback of the future. In this instance, adding Sam Darnold to the deal provides them with a bridge option that can man things before a rookie is ready to take charge under center.
Murray’s hypothetical departure would also leave the Cardinals short of running options, so acquiring Christian McCaffrey is another enticing option providing the All-Pro can rid himself of some recent troubling injury problems.
It’s also highly likely that Arizona and stud edge rusher Chandler Jones will go their separate ways in free agency. Yetur Gross-Matos’ eye-catching progress last season could interest them as they look for a long-term solution on their defensive front.
Again, we cannot stress enough how unlikely this is. But an offer like this could tempt the Cardinals if Murray demands a move away.
