4 premier landing spots for Donte Jackson in 2022 free agency

Donte Jackson could join the Buffalo Bills
Perhaps the most obvious team that Donte Jackson could join if he were to leave the Carolina Panthers is the Buffalo Bills, who boasted a formidable pass defense in 2021 and possess a head coach in Sean McDermott that worked with the talented cornerback before during their time together in Charlotte.
Familiarity is something that McDermott has sought heavily since his well-deserved promotion, bringing a wealth of former players and coaches from the Panthers to Buffalo. Something that’s brought a significant amount of success.
Much would depend on how the Bills view their current corner options and the money Jackson’s representatives are demanding during negotiations. However, landing in Buffalo would put the LSU product on a team with a legitimate chance of contending for a Super Bowl over the next few years, which is a luxury the player hasn’t had throughout his career so far.
It’s also worth remembering that Jackson is just entering his prime. His coverage skills and assisting in run support have come on in a big way over the last two seasons and reuniting with McDermott – who was defensive coordinator in Carolina when he was drafted – could bring even more out of him.
Jackson would no doubt jump at the chance of linking up with some old faces once again. But whether the Bills want to spend their money on a position of relative strength is another matter.
