4 players the Carolina Panthers could trade to NY Jets for draft picks
By Dean Jones
Which players could the Carolina Panthers trade to the New York Jets in pursuit of gaining valuable draft capital for a franchise quarterback?
There is a growing belief that the Carolina Panthers are going to take another big swing at a veteran quarterback this offseason. This is something that’s been reported by media figures such as Joe Person of The Athletic and Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer in recent days, with Peter Schrager adding on Good Morning Football that he spoke to team owner David Tepper during Super Bowl week, who all-but-confirmed this notion.
The idea of someone like Deshaun Watson, Russell Wilson, or even Aaron Rodgers is nice. But convincing an established veteran to join the Panthers is a completely different ball game.
Matthew Stafford turned down Carolina in 2021 before joining the Los Angeles Rams. This proved to be a shrewd move as the signal-caller went on to achieve his first Super Bowl title as the Panthers suffered another campaign of abject misery en route to a 5-12 record.
The Panthers might also need additional draft capital to pull off such a move. According to Daniel Jeremiah of the NFL Network, the New York Jets and New York Giants are willing to act as middlemen with any team searching for a quarterback and are looking for quality players in return.
This report will not go unnoticed by those in power on the Panthers. Here are four players that the team might be willing to trade in pursuit of landing capital to strengthen their chances of a franchise veteran quarterback in 2022.
