5 returners the Carolina Panthers must consider in 2022 free agency

Carolina Panthers must consider Demarcus Robinson
While there isn’t much to go off regarding Demarcus Robinson’s kick return abilities at the next level, pursuing the wide receiver in free agency would – as the old saying goes – kill two birds with one stone for the Carolina Panthers and something they must consider if the player declares a mutual interest at the right price.
Robinson has been a solid depth wideout from the moment he was drafted by the Kansas City Chiefs. But with the organization facing some tough decisions regarding key personnel in the coming weeks, it might leave the Ohio State product on the outside looking in.
There would be a few teams interested in Robinson should he test the market. The Panthers would be able to offer the receiver a substantial role in their offensive gameplan and also give him kick returning responsibilities to further enhance his overall influence.
According to Spotrac, Robinson is projected to command an annual salary of $2.9 million on a two-year, $5.88 million deal. This doesn’t seem too steep for such a talented player, but a bidding war rising this prediction is something that the Panthers could probably do without.
Robinson has got a pretty sweet gig in Kansas City working with the likes of Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Tyreek Hill. However, he might not ever get a better chance to test himself elsewhere and prove beyond all doubt he can become much more than a rotational receiving threat.
