Which potential draft prospects who stood out during the HBCU Legacy Bowl should the Carolina Panthers monitor during the assessment process?

One exciting addition to the NFL Draft process this years is the HBCU Legacy Bowl, which took place last weekend after a tough week of practice for professional hopefuls emanating from historically black colleges and universities. This came just a few short weeks after the Senior Bowl and considering the wealth of talent produced by these programs throughout history, the Carolina Panthers and others across the league should have had a close eye on what was transpiring.

This is an important offseason period for the Panthers, who have many holes to fill and not much cap space or draft capital to make this happen. General manager Scott Fitterer and other decision-makers are going to be busy forming some sort of plan that puts Carolina in the best possible position to succeed – a challenge that is sure to be a big one considering how much the team struggled in Year 2 of Matt Rhule’s tenure.

Unearthing diamonds from the rough is something Fitterer got a superb reputation for during his time with the Seattle Seahawks. This carried on last spring following his well-deserved promotion, with mid-to-late round prospects such as Keith Taylor Jr., Daviyon Nixon, and Chuba Hubbard all contributing more than anticipated during their rookie campaigns.

Whether those participating in the showcase did enough to hear their names called remains to be seen. But there are some who did their chances no harm at all with exceptional performances during the week.

With this in mind, here are three players that could potentially be on the Panthers’ radar following their efforts throughout HBCU Legacy Bowl week.
