Predictable, mundane, stagnant. Words that would definitely describe how things transpired on offense for the Carolina Panthers in 2021.
This ended up posting Joe Brady his job as Matt Rhule looked to take the heat off himself. Something that brought little to no improvement down the stretch once Jeff Nixon assumed play-calling duties.
The introduction of Ben McAdoo brings a level of intrigue. But he hasn’t held a coordinator position for some time and the NFL catches up pretty quickly to previous methods that become dated in a hurry.
Carolina does possess exciting young players that could make things happen in the right scheme. Although it’s absolutely essential that the right reinforcements are sought across the offensive line and there appears a high chance a new quarterback will be dictating proceedings under center after the trade for Sam Darnold failed miserably.
Giving opposing defenses something they aren’t expecting opens things up. It keeps them guessing and was non-existent within the Panthers’ gameplan last time around.
McAdoo has a big opportunity to reignite his coaching career in Carolina. Whether he can accomplish this or not is the big question.
