5 ambitious goals for the Carolina Panthers 2022 offseason period

Carolina Panthers formulate a Herschel Walker trade with Christian McCaffrey
This slide is bound to draw a lot of ire but hear me out.
Christian McCaffrey is not the player that he once was and the last few seasons have proven that a running back cannot carry a team to a championship. The Indianapolis Colts, Tennessee Titans, and the Carolina Panthers are all proof of this point.
So trading away the face of the franchise for a starting quarterback like we discussed in the previous slide or a bevy of draft picks like those the Dallas Cowboys acquired from the Minnesota Vikings for Herschel Walker in the early 1990s is something to be considered.
The Cowboys built a dynasty that brought them three Super Bowl titles in four years in large part thanks to that trade. That has to be a tantalizing idea for the Panthers.
Sending McCaffrey to a team like the Baltimore Ravens who are wanting to compete for a title and are a run-first team would be the perfect scenario for all parties involved.
The Ravens get a star running threat to pair with Lamar Jackson and the Panthers get a truckload of draft picks and maybe a player in return.
This is not a short-sighted move.
This is a move predicated on the fact that Carolina needs help before it can compete. Holes need to be filled and what better place to do that than in the draft.
I want to see McCaffrey back in form and stay a Panther for the rest of his career. But there comes a time when even good things must come to an end.
