5 draft prospects from local programs the Panthers could target in 2022

Carolina Panthers could target Kingsley Enagbare
Again, the defensive front would not be a great need for the Carolina Panthers at the present moment. But if DaQuan Jones, Marquis Haynes, and Haason Reddick depart in free agency, it represents a significant problem and one that would have to be addressed as a matter of urgency.
It’s highly unlikely the Panthers will let all three walk and after 11 sacks in 2021, extending Reddick should be a lock providing the money suits all parties. With that said, no team can ever have enough quality pass rushers and Kingsley Enagbare has a lot of likable attributes that could see him become a real force at the next level with further refinement.
Enagbare was part of South Carolina’s dominant defensive front last season and did his draft stock no harm whatsoever. He might not have elite explosiveness, but the lineman is violent and has the technique to make his presence felt on almost every down.
Another area where Enagbare excels is against the run with 24 tackles for loss throughout his college career. Providing some awareness issues are resolved once he gets to the pros, there is a lot to like about his potential moving forward.
Much like the situation with Justyn Ross, the Panthers would likely need some Day 2 capital if they identified Enagbare as a prospect of interest. So it would take some maneuvering from general manager Scott Fitterer in this scenario.
