7 prospects on offense Panthers should watch at 2022 Scouting Combine
By Dean Jones
Which prospects on offense should those in power within the Carolina Panthers have a close eye on during the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine?
All eyes will turn to the NFL Scouting Combine this week, which is one of the most important occasions during the offseason. This is the place where college prospects take center stage, but the Carolina Panthers and others across the league will also be talking between themselves regarding potential trades that could have a big impact on the draft process.
The Panthers have reportedly begun another aggressive search for a new quarterback after Sam Darnold failed to make the most out of his big chance in 2021. But with one draft pick in the top-100, there could be some players on the move if Carolina wants to acquire some additional capital to improve problem positional groups on the cheap.
There is enormous pressure on Matt Rhule and others within the Panthers to get things right in the coming weeks. It will be difficult all things considered, but identifying the correct college players would do their chances no harm at all.
With this in mind, here are seven college prospects on offense that Carolina should monitor at the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine.
Prospect No. 1
Carolina Panthers should watch Ed Ingram
After leaving a notable impression at the 2022 Senior Bowl, Ed Ingram will look to enhance his draft stock further with a commanding display throughout the week at Lucas Oil Stadium. The interior offensive lineman wasn’t without his flaws at LSU, but he has the necessary skills to make a successful transition to the next level in the right fit.
Ingram is a huge presence and incredibly difficult to move off the block. The player’s flexibility and intelligence are where they need to be, although technique remains something of a concern – especially when it comes to pass protection.
The Carolina Panthers need immediate assistance on their offensive line after a disastrous 2021 season. So watching Ingram closely to determine whether he is capable of helping right out of the gate would be beneficial.
