Which players could the Carolina Panthers have selected instead of wide receiver Terrace Marshall Jr. in the 2021 NFL Draft?

It was a struggle for Terrace Marshall Jr. during his first season with the Carolina Panthers, who was taken No. 59 overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. After flashing in preseason games, the wide receiver finished the campaign with just 17 receptions for 183 yards and no touchdowns.

A mixture of injuries, lack of offensive identity, and sub-par quarterback play all resulted in a poor season for the Louisiana native. However, with the player showing some of the problems staying healthy that plagued Marshall down in Baton Rouge at LSU, it may leave fans wondering if the pick used could have been used elsewhere.

Seeing as the Panthers released veteran David Moore in order to accommodate Marshall at WR3, fans and coaches would have expected a better output regardless of extenuating circumstances. Hopefully, with a new offensive coordinator coming into the fold, the wideout can finally start fulfilling his undoubted promise next time around.

It’s worth noting the Panthers originally held the No. 39 overall selection, but a trade with the Chicago Bears to acquire additional draft capital shifted them down the board considerably.

With this in mind, here are four players Carolina could have selected over Marshall in 2021.
