Carolina Panthers could trade for Jalen Hurts

There has been heavy speculation out of Philadelphia that the Eagles may use their massive amount of draft capital to move in on one of the elite quarterbacks said to be available by trade. If that were to happen, there would suddenly be a young player on the move that should interest the Carolina Panthers.

Jalen Hurts was the Eagles’ full-time starter in 2021 after an impressive rookie season. During this run, the signal-caller showed massive improvement as the campaign went on, guiding Philadelphia to win six out of their last eight games – missing one contest during this stretch – and just barely missing the playoffs.

He put on a show with his dual-threat game, scoring 26 touchdowns in 15 games, and also secured an impressive 784 yards on the ground.

Should Hurts become available, he would certainly be considered more valuable than any of the quarterbacks in the 2022 NFL Draft and the Panthers might consider sending the No. 6 overall selection to Philadelphia for a potential franchise quarterback.

Just because he is not one team’s answer, does not mean he cannot be exactly what the Panthers are looking for. Hurts has shown enough ability to be just that and there is every chance he gets better entering his third NFL season.

A lot would have to play out in order for Hurts to come to Carolina. But it is something that they should strongly consider should Philadelphia move off of him this offseason.
