Carolina Panthers will draft the best available player at No. 6

The offensive line and quarterback are the two biggest needs this offseason for the Carolina Panthers and with the No. 6 overall selection, they should have a chance to get a pretty good player if they don’t mess up.

When asked about whether Carolina would try and trade down, Scott Fitterer basically said it’s not out of the question but he feels there will be a really good player at that spot.

"“You don’t want to just trade to trade.”"

Fitterer added the team will take the best available player. But there is a clear emphasis on the offensive line after there was a complete capitulation within this positional group in 2021 outside of Taylor Moton.

So, while Fitterer says Carolina will explore the best available player. It doesn’t take a genius to figure out the general manager means best offensive lineman in all likelihood.

With the uncertainty surrounding the quarterback class this year, it seems like it might be a bit of a reach to take one at No. 6. But with Malik Willis and Kenny Pickett both impressing, this potential scenario cannot be ruled out entirely.

If it wasn’t clear already, the offensive line will be the biggest priority this draft and free agency period. And rightfully so.
