Coming across well during media availability is par for the course in the modern era. Prospects entering the league are well-versed in how to cope with whatever question gets thrown at them thanks to training and previous experience within the ever-increasing exposure college football receives.
However, it’s what you do when nobody is watching that makes the biggest impact.
Malik Willis is a prime example of this. A viral video of the quarterback giving some items to a homeless person on the streets outside Lucas Oil Stadium is a testament to the player’s selfless nature and high character – something that won’t have gone unnoticed by the Carolina Panthers or other potentially interested teams.
Was having lunch yesterday and saw one of the Combine guys helping out someone on some hard times…@malikwillis being great even when nobody is watching. How can you not be a fan of this guy? pic.twitter.com/BmFzUM66NU

This might not sound like much.
And it obviously doesn’t translate to production on the field.
But the fact Willis went out of his way to help someone less fortunate on the biggest day of his football journey so far is proof positive what a fantastic presence the signal-caller will be once he gets in an NFL locker room.
There are no heirs and graces about Willis. He is a humble individual who just wants an opportunity to showcase what he can do after almost writing off his chances of becoming a professional when he decided to transfer from Auburn to Liberty.
That hunger is going to make one organization extremely lucky.
