Malik Willis has a high football IQ
Another element where Malik Willis reportedly shone during the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine was during his interviews with various teams. The Carolina Panthers were one such organization that spoke in-depth with the quarterback and many media figures stated that the prospect came across extremely well in this crucial category.
Willis is a personable guy that is hard not to love. He constantly has a smile on his face and takes absolutely nothing for granted – traits that are going to serve him well in the pro ranks.
This is matched by a high football IQ and natural intelligence that has also caught the eye of teams, according to Ian Rappaport of the NFL Network. Willis scored a lofty 32 in his Wonderlic test and dispelled the motion he’d have any trouble transitioning from a college offense at the next level.

Things couldn’t have gone much better for Willis in this regard. Anyone that heard him speak during media availability couldn’t help but root for the kid and, more importantly, he backed this up by proving to scouts and other key personnel he could cope with a significant step-up with an NFL playbook.
Obviously, nobody will know for sure until Willis starts taking some reps against the very best. However, his knowledge and work ethic are going to give him every chance of thriving.
