4 perfect landing spots for Haason Reddick in 2022 free agency
By Dean Jones
With Haason Reddick expected to test the free-agent market, where could the Carolina Panthers outside linebacker end up in 2022?
Despite many fans hoping that Haason Reddick would receive a deserved extension from the Carolina Panthers this offseason, it appears as if the stud outside linebacker is going to test the free-agent market. General manager Scott Fitterer declared as much during his media availability at the NFL Scouting Combine, which could be a body blow to a defensive front that made some noticeable strides last time around.
Reddick is thoroughly deserving of all the money coming his way after attaining 23.5 sacks over the last two seasons. He bet on himself in an unstable financial climate last spring by signing a one-year with the Panthers and is sure to be rewarded accordingly by a team looking to bolster their pass-rushing options.
Carolina doesn’t have much money to spend in the coming weeks. And it didn’t appear as if Fitterer was too keen on kicking the can down the road with large contracts anymore.
Haason Reddick would leave a big hole to fill on the Carolina Panthers
The Temple product has been biting back on Twitter this week, and rightfully so. But the former first-round pick now has two solid years of production to take to the bargaining table and consistent pass-rushers are always highly sought-after when they hit the market.
Whether the Panthers have an ace up their sleeve remains to be seen. They still have high hopes that Yetur Gross-Matos can evolve into a dominant force off the edge, although his best work in 2021 came as a three-technique from the interior.
If Reddick is free to hit the market as expected, here are four perfect landing spots for the player.
