The Carolina Panthers are open to trading almost anyone on their roster outside of stud defensive end Brian Burns, according to a recent report.

Not only is the NFL Scouting Combine a place for teams to interview and see incoming college recruits strut their stuff on the field, but it’s also a venue where fierce negotiations begin regarding any potential trades. The Carolina Panthers are once again expected to be active in this area as they look to turn around what’s been three-straight five-win seasons with almost no genuine progression.

This is going to be difficult with one draft pick in the opening three rounds after trading for Sam Darnold and C.J. Henderson. But they should be bigger players in the free-agent market after Taylor Moton’s contract restructure taking their available resources to $26.26 million.

Of course, convincing veterans with multiple alternatives that the Panthers are the right fit will be a tough proposition. Especially considering Matt Rhule enters 2022 on the hot seat and could be fired next year if things do not progress significantly from a results standpoint.

There is incredible urgency in Carolina. Something that might just see one or two prominent figures within the locker room switch teams via trade when it’s all said and done.

Carolina Panthers would consider trading D.J. Moore, according to Charlie Campbell

According to Charlie Campbell of WalterFootball.com, team sources at the NFL Scouting Combine stated that they believe the Panthers are open to trading anybody on their roster not named Brian Burns. That also includes stud receiver D.J. Moore, who is coming off his third-straight 1,000-yard season.

"“Team sources tell me the Panthers are open to trading any player on their roster with the exception of perhaps defensive end Brian Burns. Surprisingly, Carolina is open to trading veteran wide receiver D.J. Moore.”"

While having a mini or full-scale fire sale could be a drastic measure by the Panthers, it’s clear something has to change. They are also not exactly blessed with tradable assets right now, so sacrificing a key contributor if the right opportunity comes along cannot be ruled out entirely.

Moore is been nothing short of sensational despite the lack of consistency under center since the Maryland product was drafted. He is entering the fifth and final year of his deal and another strong campaign could see him get significant money from the Panthers or someone else as a result.

Although this would not go down too well with the team’s fanbase, Campbell added that the Panthers would consider trading Moore at the right price. He also stated – citing sources – that Carolina could also extend the wideout if the money works for all parties.

"“Carolina also could look to keep Moore and sign him to an extension, but sources say the Panthers are open to trading Moore for the right price.”"

Considering how many questions surround the Panthers’ pass-catchers, it might be worth them adding Moore to their list of players that shouldn’t be traded. Campbell also mentioned the likes of Christian McCaffrey and Robby Anderson as those that could be moved, with the former Temple star being linked with the New England Patriots in the last few days.

This is all just speculation right now. But we won’t have to wait much longer for the dominoes to fall in Carolina and across the league.
