Carolina Panthers could target Ryan Jensen

Matt Rhule, for better or worse, stated that he wanted the Carolina Panthers to be a downhill running offense. Signing Ryan Jensen from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers would be a good start to accomplishing that goal.

Jensen has become one of the best centers in the league and plays with a fierce physicality and aggressiveness that shines when Tampa Bay gets moving downhill.

The offensive lineman will be 31 years old when the new season kicks off. With Tom Brady retiring, it’ll be interesting to see what happens with Tampa Bay this offseason as they look to remain competitive without the Pro Football Hall of Famer.

Both Jensen and wide receiver Chris Godwin are due for big paydays. But could Brady’s departure be the first of many departures or will the Buccaneers look to try and keep their roster intact for a second-straight offseason?

Carolina could use an experienced and physical center in the trenches of their offensive line. If they can lure Jansen away from a division rival, it will be even better.

Jensen is projected to receive a three-year, $39 million deal, which works out at $13 million per year.
