Jordan Love has been groomed by Aaron Rodgers

While Jordan Love hasn’t had a lot of experience playing in an actual NFL game, he has been on the practice field and in the locker room for two years with one of the best quarterbacks we’ve ever seen.

Aaron Rodgers began his journey in the NFL in a similar way by sitting behind Pro Football Hall of Famer Brett Favre before he left town. If history repeated itself, Love would’ve slid right into the starting role had he decided to leave.

The closest thing we’ve seen to a situation like this recently is the New England Patriots trading backup Jimmy Garroppolo since he wasn’t going to be replacing Tom Brady anytime soon.

Garroppolo hasn’t turned out to be a star. But he has helped lead the San Francisco 49ers to the Super Bowl and an NFC Championship Game.

Love was a first-round pick for a reason and that can’t be taken lightly. We’ve seen tons of first-round quarterbacks fall flat, but there’s no real proof to say either way where the Utah State product is concerned.

Even if Love did play well at practice, he was never going to replace Rodgers. However, if he’s taken on board everything he learned from the reigning NFL MVP over the past two years then he can have some very unique skillsets.

However, many thought Matt Flynn would play well after being traded from Green Bay back in 2012 and that didn’t work out. But this is something for the Carolina Panthers to ponder.
