4 star players the Panthers could acquire for Christian McCaffrey

Andre Dillard could be part of a Christian McCaffrey trade
This wouldn’t be a popular move for the Carolina Panthers, but it could be a great one.
The Philadelphia Eagles hold three first-round picks and there isn’t any reason to think they wouldn’t consider moving one along with a player like Andre Dillard. Carolina might have to give up a bit more than simply Christian McCaffrey, but trading the All-Pro and other compensation for a productive left tackle and a first-round pick feels like a decision that sends the offense in the right direction.
Sam Darnold was a huge problem for Carolina in 2021. The season he put together was so ugly it was often lost just how badly the offensive line played.
The Panthers’ protection was incapable of slowing down even the worst pass rushers in the league. Something that has to change moving forward.
We watched this play out twice against the Atlanta Falcons – a team that arguably had the worst pass rush in the league. Even their lowly NFC South rivals managed to generate pressure at will against the struggling protection that looked lost throughout the campaign.
Carolina must make moves to improve the line this offseason. Acquiring Dillard and a high pick would be a step in that direction.
It is worth noting here that injury concerns with Dillard do exist. However, if the Eagles are willing to part ways, the move would be well worth the risk.
