Which high-profile upcoming Carolina Panthers free agents are unlikely to still be around when the 2022 season gets underway?

It won’t be much longer before we find out just which dominoes fall or rise within the Carolina Panthers this offseason. There is a growing amount of speculation surrounding the organization for a multitude of different reasons, including another bold bid for a quarterback in the trade market after Sam Darnold failed to meet his objectives.

A large number of veterans are also awaiting their fate. Some will have more interest than others on the free-agent market, so it’s essential that the Panthers make the correct calls and somehow get this franchise trending in the right direction following three consecutive five-win seasons.

Considering how much pressure is coming from team owner David Tepper and Matt Rhule clearly a head coach in jeopardy of losing his job next season, the stakes have rarely been higher in Carolina. One false move here or there could see the billionaire wield the ax either during or shortly after the 2022 season.

With this in mind, here are five high-profile free agents who might not be back with the Panthers in 2022.

Player No. 1

John Miller – Carolina Panthers OG

The Carolina Panthers’ offensive line was an absolute abomination in 2021. John Miller was one of the main culprits regarding this underperformance and cutting the player loose once his contract comes to a conclusion this spring should be an easy call to make.

Miller returned to the Panthers following an indifferent first season with the franchise. But he couldn’t turn things around and his “sacks happen” quote only infuriated fans further and was another prime example of the distinct lack of accountability from coaches or within the locker room.

Carolina needs to upgrade every position outside of Taylor Moton at the right tackle spot. When Miller gets the call, it should come as no surprise whatsoever.
