Which Carolina Panthers players must rebound in 2022 in order to stabilize their long-term future with the organization?

Things are hanging in the balance ahead of what promises to be a make-or-break season for the Carolina Panthers in 2022. There is a lot on the line for some influential figures within the organization after the team lost 12 of their final 14 games last time around, so those in power have a monumental task on their hands in the pursuit of making the necessary moves in the coming weeks.

Matt Rhule will be in the firing line first, one suspects. There were some that predicted the head coach might lose his job once the campaign came to a conclusion, but team owner David Tepper stuck with his guy for his third year, which is where his plans saw progression at both Temple and Baylor.

There should be some big-time changes to personnel before OTAs and training camp come around. But there are some on the roster who need to step up their respective contributions after failing to meet expectations in 2021.

With this in mind, here are four Panthers players who must rebound next season, providing they are still part of the team’s plans.

Terrace Marshall Jr. – Carolina Panthers WR

There were a few eyebrows raised when the Carolina Panthers selected Terrace Marshall Jr. at No. 59 overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. This had nothing to do with the wide receiver’s talent, but the organization clearly had a big need to strengthen their offensive line that went ignored until the third round when they traded up for Brady Christensen.

Marshall couldn’t become a factor in the passing game and was virtually anonymous throughout his rookie year. The LSU product caught just 17 receptions from 30 targets for 138 receiving yards, which wasn’t the best way for the wideout to begin his NFL journey.

Hopefully, Marshall can become increasingly influential within Ben McAdoo’s system. If he doesn’t, then the draft bust tag will undoubtedly begin to surface.
