As with the previous three players, it would be ludicrous for the Carolina Panthers to move on from Jeremy Chinn. The former second-round pick had another stellar year in 2021, ending the year with 107 total tackles – the most on the team – as he was named as a Pro Bowl replacement.

But frankly, nothing this franchise does should surprise anymore.

If Chinn is dealt as part of the Deshaun Watson deal, this could see another 2020 draftee in Kenny Robinson see elevated playing time.

The former XFL star saw extended playing time toward the end of the 2021 season when Juston Burris’ poor play meant he was out of the lineup. And with the veteran now a free agent and unlikely to be re-signed by the Carolina Panthers, it was speculated that the third-year-pro was in line to potentially partner Chinn.

However, Chinn leaving could really see the former West Virginia Mountaineer thrown in at the deep end. Although the Panthers are reportedly reluctant to include the Southern Illinois product in the move.

An athlete of Chinn’s level is hard to find. While Robinson flashed at times, he’s probably not even ready to start – therefore meaning he is certainly not ready to assume these sorts of responsibilities.

Trading any of the four players mentioned would set the franchise even further. But we’ve seen the impatience of owner David Tepper and after sitting through two years of Teddy Bridgewater and Sam Darnold, expect him to do anything to find his next quarterback.
