Carolina Panthers could target Dante Fowler Jr.

Dante Fowler Jr. is 28 years old and has plenty of experience coming off the edge to sack quarterbacks. In 2019, he had a breakout season totaling 15 quarterback takedowns and is a powerful presence that could make a ton of sense for the Carolina Panthers if they decide to let Haason Reddick walk.

Fowler hasn’t met the same expectations since that season. But the former Florida Gator has produced at an above-average level.

In 2020, he had four sacks and ended last season with five as part of the Atlanta Falcons. The Panthers also had a problem with the run game, especially on the outside, which Fowler can help with to further sweeten the pot.

Fowler could be a cheaper option for Carolina, but much will depend on the market and how much the player wants, and for what length of time. He is a veteran with knowledge and could have a lot more left in the tank.

The No. 3 overall selection in 2015 was recently released by the Falcons as a cost-cutting measure and he could very well stay in the NFC South for another season.
