Carolina Panthers could steal D’Marco Jackson

Appalachian State’s D’Marco Jackson is a local Carolinian from Spartanburg. He’s a quick and explosive linebacker that operates sideline to sideline with good range.

Jackson posted a very solid 4.55-second 40-yard dash at the NFL Scouting Combine and is a player who uses his speed to get skinny to slip past blocks and get into the backfield consistently.

The linebacker has struggled to get off blocks once engaged. This will be a major area of development for him once he gets into the league if he’s to become a consistent presence at the second level for the Carolina Panthers or someone else.

He has the perfect skillsets to at the very least be a great special teamer right out of the gate. Something that shouldn’t be taken for granted.

The Panthers have an underrated big hole at the linebacker position. One that they haven’t been able to fill all that well since the great Luke Kuechly decided to retire for health reasons after eight exceptional seasons.

Jackson may need some time before he’s ready to step into a starting role. If he can figure it all out, the prospect could make a great addition to somebody’s defense.
