Carolina Panthers could steal Cole Strange

Cole Strange is this year’s small school lineman that will be shooting up draft boards. He does everything you want from an interior protector very well, but the only thing is there are some size concerns and particulars that come from playing at an FCS program.

The Chattanooga product is touted as a player who can play multiple positions across the offensive line. He’s listed as a guard, but his body type suggests he might be better suited as a center once he transitions to the pros.

Strange played some center during the 2022 Senior Bowl to give teams a look at what he can do there. However, both of those positions happen to be areas that the Carolina Panthers need a significant makeover and if the prospect caught their eye, then it could be a shrewd pickup in the mid-rounds.

One potential problem regarding this potential acquisition is Strange’s surging draft stock. He is projected as a third-round selection by some analysts following an exceptional evaluation process so far,  which complicates matters for the Panthers and they may need to acquire some more draft capital if they want to be in the running for his services.

Strange is a hard worker that won’t take anything for granted. This means he is highly coachable and new offensive line coach James Campen has the know-how to get the player trending on the right path extremely quickly.
