5 best moves of Carolina Panthers 2022 free agency so far

Carolina Panthers got themselves a power RB
One of the most frustrating elements where the Carolina Panthers are concerned over the last two seasons has been the injuries to Christian McCaffrey. The All-Pro running back featured just 10 times in 2020 and 2021, so it’s clear a better plan was needed to take the pressure off and if the former first-round pick goes down for a considerable period once again.
This was sorted out nice and early once free agency began, which was a massive lift. The Panthers snapped up D’Onta Foreman from the Tennessee Titans, who filled in extremely well for Mike Vrabel’s men when Derrick Henry got hurt and played a significant role in the team securing the AFC’s No. 1 seed.
Foreman is someone that can gain the hard yards in between the tackles while also contributing in the passing game should the opportunity arise. He is a big play waiting to happen and this should give the Panthers a chance to take some responsibility off McCaffrey’s shoulders – which is sorely needed.
There appears little doubt that McCaffrey will remain the focal point. But offensive coordinator Ben McAdoo now knows there are multiple options available to keep his best weapon fresh and firing on all cylinders.
This can only mean good news for the Panthers and McCaffrey, who’ll be needed more than ever during a critical Year 3 for head coach Matt Rhule.
