What are some acceptable trades the Carolina Panthers could offer the Cleveland Browns for quarterback Baker Mayfield this offseason?

As the Carolina Panthers go up and down the country examining quarterbacks under consideration with the team’s first-round selection, rumors continue to swirl surrounding a potential trade to acquire a veteran that might be able to provide quicker assistance. These options are becoming incresingly limited following an incredible period of activity across the league, but one or two established players could still be available should the organization choose.

According to Jeff Howe of The Athletic, the Panthers and Seattle Seahawks held preliminary discussions with the Cleveland Browns surrounding a potential trade for Baker Mayfield, who is now surplus to requirements after the AFC North team secured the services of Deshaun Watson – a move that cost them six draft picks and $230 million in full guarantees.

Mayfield has had some nice moments throughout his career. But his petulence is often criticized and he seems more like a game-manager than someone that can take over proceedings by the scruff of the neck.

Carolina has plenty of leverage should they choose to move for Mayfield. The Browns don’t want the Oklahoma product around by the time OTAs begin and the player himself has made it pretty clear his future lies elsewhere.

This could see the price drop significantly just to get Mayfield out of the picture. If this comes to fruition, here are three acceptable trades that could see the former No. 1 overall selection end up in Carolina.
