5 Panthers players who should be worried after free-agent signings

Which Carolina Panthers players should be worried by the team’s activity during a busy free agency period so far?
It’s been a busy free agency period for the Carolina Panthers so far. One that has brought encouraging signings, plenty of drama, and some notable veteran departures that leave their fortunes in 2022 hanging in the balance.
There are some obvious problems that remain. Most notably, the Panthers need to find themselves an upgrade at the quarterback position after refusing to meet Deshaun Watson’s contract demands, which was probably the correct call to make considering how much guaranteed money the signal-caller received from the Cleveland Browns.
Carolina’s approach this offseason looks far different than the two previous years under Matt Rhule. Whether that’s a more collective approach without the head coach calling the shots is debatable, but it’s hard to deny the Panthers haven’t addressed significant needs in pursuit of finally showing some signs of life heading into Year 3 of Rhule’s time in the role.
Of course, with the introduction of new faces comes positivity. But for those already on the roster, it also brings a sense of trepidation regarding their respective roles and whether or not they will be diminished in any way next time around.
Only time will tell, obviously. But here are five Panthers players who might be a little worried by the free-agent signings made so far.
